St Canice’s Neighbourhood Hall cordially Invites you to,
“A Beautiful Day in the Neighbourhood”
A showcase day for all our service users
On June 20th we are turning one half of our hall into an Art Exhibition space where we will display arts and crafts created by some of our service users such as watercolour paintings, hand-woven baskets and copper-wire jewelry from our service users and a selection of paintings from a neuro-diverse children’s art workshop. We will also be displaying a giant map of Ukraine made out of hand-woven stars for Amber Women’s Refuge “One Million Stars” campaign.
The Exhibition will be open from 11am – 4pm
The other half of our hall will be turned into a mini theatre where we will be hosting 3 different shows throughout the day.
12pm – “Bearly Poetry”
A work-in-progress performance of a one-man show by Kilkenny-born poet, Savage Cabbage preceded by a rehearsed reading of “The Gossip Column” which is a short comedy sketch devised, written and performed by members of the Kilkenny Women’s Group and facilitated by Steve Nolan(Savage Cabbage).
2pm – “Outstageous”
An improvised comedic theatre show devised and performed by Dreamstuff Youth Theatre.
4pm – “Where Old Ghosts Meet”
A celebration of the renowned Irish poet, Patrick Kavanagh by PLAYACTIN’ Kilkenny. The show is adapted and directed by Geoff Rose and performed by Jimmy Rhatigan.
All shows are free of charge and on a first come, first served basis so get there early in order to be sure of availability. Tea/coffee and treats will be provided free of charge with a voluntary donation box on site for those of you who feel inclined to support us and the work we facilitate.
