Carmel Joyce – Colleague and Friend

Wed, May 20, 2015

Carmel Phelan Joyce – A great soul and beautiful human being has passed through our lives and our community and all of us are richer for the privilege of having known her. We are heartbroken at the passing of a great friend, confidante, mentor and strong shoulder to all of us lucky enough to have met or worked with her. She was there for ‘those seen but not heard, those heard but not seen’ …(and saw those that most of the rest of us missed) – that quote was from her thesis on the Fr McGrath Centre completed at the height of her illness – what a woman!

A loss not just to us but to humanity.

It is with Deepest and Sincere Sadness that as a Mark of Respect to Carmel Joyce (nee Phelan) our Administrator and Much Loved Friend The Centre will be Closed from 1pm this Friday 22nd May.

Carmel died after a short illness surrounded by her family on Wednesday 20th May 2015. Reposing at Her Home 37 The Avenue,  The Weir View, Kilkenny on Friday Evening 22nd May with Rosary at 9pm. Removal to St Patrick Church Clogh, Co Kilkenny on Saturday 23rd May for Requiem Mass at 10.00am followed by cremation in Newlands Cross Crematorium is a private ceremony.

Carmel Will Be Deeply Missed By Everyone Who Had the Good Grace and Fortune to Know Her.

May She Rest in Peace.
